Nancy Cohen

Something About Nancy....

Nancy Cohen has spent a lifetime putting books into children's hands. Inspired by nearly 30 years as a Children's Librarian — first at the Nepean (now Ottawa) Public Library, then as Head of Children's Services at the Moncton Public Library — she knows the magic that happens when a child falls in love with a story.

One of Nancy's greatest joys was storytime for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. She firmly believes children should be read to every day from birth, and there is nothing she loves more than seeing little faces light up in wonder at the pictures on a page. It was that wonder that inspired her to begin writing her own books for children.

A graduate of the University of Toronto with a BA in English and a Master of Library Science, Nancy grew up in Ancaster, Ontario and built her career across two provinces. Now retired, she and her husband Ivan have returned to Ontario to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She writes from her home in Brockville, where she lives with Ivan and an adorable puggle named Winnie.
